Our family's journey in fencing began in the early 1900s with my great-grandfather, Tommy Curley. Through hard work, precision, and pride in every installation, he built a reputation that would lay the foundation for generations to come.
His son, Edward Curley, expanded that legacy by growing Newlands Fencing into one of the West Midlands' most respected fencing contractors. From the very beginning, he was supported by his wife, Dorothy Curley, whose dedication played a vital role in the company's success. Dorothy helped build the business from the ground up, hand delivering leaflets across the local area, while also managing payroll and accounts as the company grew.
Operating across Sutton Coldfield and beyond, Newlands Fencing became known for its exceptional standards and reliability, securing contracts with leading new build developers and firmly establishing itself at the forefront of the industry.
Edward's son, Martin Curley, continued the tradition by supplying high quality fencing materials from his father's yard, serving the local community with trusted products and expert advice. Following Edward's retirement, Martin founded Newhall Fencing, a company built not only on decades of experience, but on a commitment to raising standards even further.
Alongside him, his wife Heidi Curley played an instrumental role in the company's rapid growth. Demonstrating remarkable dedication, Heidi gave up everything to support the business, standing by Martin's side as Newhall Fencing expanded. Today, she remains at the heart of the company as Head of Office, overseeing payroll, company health and safety, and accounts, ensuring the business continues to run with the same professionalism and care it was built upon.
Under Martin's leadership, Newhall Fencing became synonymous with quality workmanship, dependable service, and a no compromise approach to materials and finish, earning the trust of customers across the West Midlands.
Today, that legacy is proudly carried forward by Tom Curley, the fourth generation of the family.
